Gaby Brink is the founder, CEO and chief designer of Sparkwise and Tomorrow Partners, where Sparkwise was incubated. She leads an inter-disciplinary team that collaborates with future oriented entrepreneurs and organizations to innovate and build design driven tools and services for positive change.

A globally celebrated designer, Gaby serves on the Board of Directors of AIGA, the largest and oldest professional design association. She co-authored The Living Principles for Design, the first integrated framework to provide a systems approach to environmental, social, economic and cultural sustainability for designers of all disciplines. Through these leadership roles, she fosters dialogue and collaboration amongst the global design community to co-create tools and best practices for design as a catalyst for positive cultural change.

Carl Bender is a design director at Sparkwise, where he utilizes his complementary experience in interactive design and branding to give Sparkwise it’s wings. Carl began his career in Philadelphia, working as a senior interactive designer on projects for clients such as Cartoon Network, General Motors, General Electric, and Smuckers.

After completing graduate school in San Francisco, he worked at Tuft & Co., bringing interactive and broadcast projects to life for Adobe and Time Warner Cable. Later, Carl worked on large-scale commercial and civic branding projects for clients like San Francisco Magazine, MTV, The Bay Bridge, and Presidio Parkway. His work has been published in design magazines such as Communication Arts, How, CMYK and Print. Projects he’s worked on have graced the cover of The New York Times.

Wendy Levy is a co-founder of Sparkwise, where she pursues strategic partnerships and builds relationships with key members of the nonprofit and business communities. She has spent the last ten years envisioning and executing international programs that bring together art, technology, and social justice, including the Producers Institute for New Media Technologies and the Impact Dashboard, which inspired Sparkwise.

Wendy is in high demand as a speaker, workshop leader and consultant to nonprofit organizations, foundations, conferences and festivals around the world. Her past work as Creative Director at BAVC led to the 2010 MacArthur Award for Creative and Effective Institutions. She is a media advisor with the Sundance Institute and has served on the Board of Directors of Frameline and the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission.

David Karam is the chief technology officer of Sparkwise. He uses his fluency in design and software development to bridge the gap between business stakeholders, researchers, visual designers and software developers. He has designed and produced interactive media, database-driven websites, applications and installations for commercial and cultural institutions including Apple Computers, Nokia, Warner Bros. Records, The Body Shop, The Getty Center and The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

Building on this experience, David founded Postera in 2009, a web site builder and hosting service for creative professionals. David’s work is in the collections of the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. He teaches at California College of the Arts, as well as Transmedia at St. Lukas in Brussels. He has lectured about design, content-managed web sites and user experience at institutions across the U.S. and Europe.

With a 20-year background in academia and an MBA in Sustainable Management from the Presidio Graduate School, she has a passion for translating complicated propositions into clear, engaging messages. She is also the co-author of The Living Principles for Design, the first integrated sustainability framework for the creative industry, which has been adopted by professional design associations around the world.
